Danville homeowners now have access to a new rebate program that makes building an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) more affordable than ever.
Through the Senate District 7 ADU Accelerator Program, qualifying property owners in Danville can receive:
- Up to $7,500 in rebates for a new ADU
- Up to $15,000 in rebates if the ADU is deed-restricted for low-income housing (minimum 20 years)
This program is designed to speed up construction of smaller ADUs (under 1,000 sq ft) and help tackle the housing shortage here in the East Bay.
To make things even easier, the Town of Danville offers free, pre-approved ADU building plans through its Garden Cottage Program. These plans are permit-ready, pre-plan checked, and can significantly reduce costs and timelines.
